Julia Griffith Becomes SSEF’s Head of Education

Julia Griffith, founder of the Gem Academy and an educator with Gem-A, has joined the Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF) as head of education.

In 2020, Griffith founded the Gem Academy, which offers courses on lab-grown diamonds. She has also been an educator and gemologist with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, known as Gem-A.

“Throughout my career, my passion has been to make gemological knowledge accessible, accurate, and inspiring for professionals across the industry,” Griffith tells JCK. “I look forward to expanding [SSEF’s] educational initiatives, supporting the trade with high-quality training, and helping to foster a deeper understanding of the science behind gemstones.”
