Pharrell Williams’ JOOPITER Opens Bidding On Rare Watch Auction

Share

The Art of Time: Rare & Coveted Watches, JOOPITER’s first-ever dedicated watch auction, is now live for global bidding through July 29, exclusively online. The tightly curated sale features 28 timepieces that span nearly a century of design—from the 1930s to the 2020s—each chosen for its mechanical merit, rarity, and cultural relevance.

Founded by Pharrell Williams, JOOPITER is known for its storytelling-driven approach to collecting. As a space “built for today’s collector by a team of collectors, curators and creators,” JOOPITER aims to make the auction experience more accessible and engaging. The platform amplifies the provenance of these objects through original editorial content, archival imagery, and engaging video, taking viewers deeper into the stories that bind these watches together.

Leading the sale with an estimate up to $120,000 is a Rolex Day-Date reference 18366 (pictured at top), cased in platinum with a lapis lazuli dial and a bezel set with 24 baguette-cut diamonds—an ultrarare configuration that elevates the already-iconic Day-Date.

cartier watch
Cartier Tank Cintrée Ref. WGTA0090 “NSO” watch in 18k yellow gold, estimate $40,000-$80,000

For Cartier collectors, the Tank Cintrée reference WGTA0090 is a notable, likely one-off creation from the brand’s New Special Order program, with a vivid blue dial and exploding white Arabic numerals unlike anything in the traditional Cintrée archive. Meanwhile, a 1970s Piaget-made Tank for Cartier, set with coral and onyx and featuring a coral dial, blurs the line between timekeeping and wearable art.

Ōtsuka Lōtec No. 6 early-production watch in stainless steel, estimate $5,000-$10,000

Independent watchmaking is represented with an early-production No. 6 by Ōtsuka Lōtec, a rare Japan-only release that fuses mechanical experimentation with a steampunk-inspired design philosophy.

“We are excited to present our inaugural watches auction—a thoughtfully curated selection of remarkable timepieces, each chosen for its craftsmanship, distinctiveness and collectibility,” said Caitlin Donovan, JOOPITER’s global head of sale, in a statement. “This sale is a result of the discerning taste and demand of our collector community, and we are excited to bring JOOPITER’s unique perspective to the world of watch collecting.”
