Jewelers International Showcase Pushes Back January Show

We’re little more than halfway through 2019 and, already, we’re looking forward to 2020. Jewelers International Showcase (JIS), which normally takes place in January at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Fla., has been moved a few weeks later to avoid conflict with Super Bowl–related events and activities prior to the big game.

The first JIS show of 2020 will now run Sunday, Feb. 9, through Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the convention center.

Show organizers say that moving the dates of the show to early February will retain the ideal timing that will allow retailers to restock merchandise, while at the same time giving them more time to sell out or upgrade any remaining holiday inventory they’re left with at first of the year.

Jordan Tuchband, industry vice president of JIS Events said in a statement: “The JIS February show is a very important buying and selling marketplace for thousands in the jewelry trade right after the holidays. Making sure we secured dates that were the best possible for attendees, exhibitors, and keep the show in Miami Beach was crucial.”

Keeping the show in South Florida is critical to JIS’ market and client base. The show was originally founded in 1979 to supply the jewelry markets of Latin America, the Caribbean, Florida, and the Southeastern United States.

JIS, which is produced by Reed Exhibitions, will operate three Florida events next year: February, April, and October.

In 2016, JIS joined Las Vegas Jewelry Week with the JIS Exchange show that coincides with the JCK Las Vegas and other concurrent shows. This year, JIS added an a show in San Diego, which is slated to take place Nov. 2–4.

Buyer registration dates of the February show will be announced in the coming months. In the meantime, to find out more about the Miami Beach, Las Vegas, and San Diego shows, visit the JIS website or call 800-840-5612.
