JFC Announces Board of Director Elections



Jewelers for Children announced the election of its new Board of Directors.

Ed Bridge, president of Ben Bridge Jeweler, replaces Howard Sherwood as Chairman. Sherwood concluded his two-year term on September 30.

Also elected to officer positions were Ruth Batson of the American Gem Society, will serve as vice president for charity programs; Terry Chandler of the Diamond Council of America, will serve as vice president of special programs; Peter Engel of Fred Meyer Jewelers, will serve as vice president for fundraising; Joel Schechter of Honora, will serve as vice president of marketing and public Relations; John Green of Lux Bond & Green, will serve as treasurer and Steven Kaiser of Kaiser Time, Inc., will serve as secretary.

The officers of the organization serve as the executive committee, along with Sherwood who serves as immediate past chairman and chairman of the nominating committee.

Nine directors were elected to a three-year term on the board for the first time: Gail Friedman, Sarah Leonard Fine Jewelers; John Hayes, Goodman’s Jewelers; Haridas Kotahwala, Royal India, USA; Mark Light, Sterling, Inc.; Sally Morrison, J. Walter Thompson; Pamela Mortensen, J. C. Penney; Debra Puzio, QVC; Dennis Ulrich, Richline Group; and Howard Hauben, Centurion/H2 Exhibits.

Directors re-elected to three-year terms are: John Bosco, HSN; Cathy Calhoun, Calhoun Jewelers; Laurence Grunstein, Citizen Watch Co. of America; Susan Jacques, Borsheims; Anna Martin, Standard Chartered Bank; Doug Meine, Rolex Watch USA; Jan-Patrick Schmitz; Laura Swan, Kohl’s; Craig Underwood, Underwood’s Fine Jewelers; and Rachel Wertheimer, JewelAmerica.
