October came in with summery weather and is going out with wind, at least here on the East Coast. Consider it the calm before the storm: Come Halloween night, we enter a landslide of holiday happenings, and they won’t stop until the new year rings.
Aside from the obvious—birthstone jewels and spooky styles ideal for the Halloween season—one theme emerged this October that both surprised and delighted me: animals.
Insects, sea life, the ever-adored serpent, and even animal prints like leopard and zebra were among the creatures that crawled, prowled, swam, and slithered their way into my inbox this month. Is animal jewelry low-key the trend to beat right now? It appears we’ve traded our summer sardines for a winter’s wild kingdom of all sorts.
My October inbox also held some of the loveliest elevated basics I’ve seen in a while, as well as autumnal-hued jewels that could be worn all year round.
October is one of my favorite months, and its jewelry revelations certainly didn’t disappoint. These are a few highlights from the month.
