Well, here we are, reporting from what seems like the 76th day of January.
We can’t talk about January without mentioning garnet, its birthstone. My inbox this month was rich with that recognizable red gem, which offers a nice show of color for the winter season. I love garnet for its fiery restraint: It’s bold and rich, but classy enough to not shout about it—like the gemstone version of quiet luxury.
Valentine’s Day is looming (according to the calendar at least; it still feels very far away), so the inbox also overfloweth with hearts, a bounty that mine positively beats for. There’s not a jewelry lover out there who couldn’t find a heart they liked, whether in opal and gold, garnet, of-the-moment onyx, or some other material (personally, I like them all).
Also prominent were pearls, showcasing an array of modern styles, baroque pearls in particular. Perfectly primed for spring and its giftable events like Mother’s Day, these jewels are modern yet enduring, sure to only get better with time.
Here, some jewels from my January inbox.
