Another year, another list of trends to stay on top of! Join JCK senior editor Jennifer Heebner and me as we show you the best jewels to stock this year, from her 2015 list of 12 trends to follow.

Trend No. 9: Vintage-Inspired Designs

Silhouettes and details from eras past continue to be honored in today’s jewelry designs, from Edwardian filigrees to Art Deco straight lines, Art Nouveau nature-loving looks to our modern affinity for rose-cut diamonds. Many of our favorite modern designs take their cues from periods past without being wholly enveloped in them. Baguette diamonds are channel-set into chunky, high-polish pieces. Blackened or oxidized metals add a toughness to more delicate, filigreed jewels. Art Deco’s straight lines are muscled into curvy shapes, while maintaining that distinctive look. It sounds like an oxymoron, but it really works. Proof? Scroll on.
