Couture clothes may be the official reason for New York Fashion Week, held Sept. 10–17, but accessories weren’t far behind in significance and were influential in their own right. Plus, trendsetters exist outside of the shows—think sidewalk patrons—and inspire their own celebrity status by posing for street-style photography. Here’s a peek at some of the jewels that were trending on civilians outside of the shows.
Studs were a mainstay on many NYFW attendees.
A dainty necklace, studs, hoops, and a septum ring (why not?) on these gals from Glam Squad, who were handing out coupons outside of the shows
Layering is still a big thing.
Statement necklaces were a top trend.
Guys got into accessorizing, too, and stud earrings (including multiples on one ear) were popular.
