Both Neiman Marcus and the Bon-Ton Stores cited jewelry as a
top seller in January.
Neiman Marcus called “precious jewelry” a top seller in its specialty retail stores and Neiman Marcus Direct segments.
The company’s comparable revenues were up 9.8 percent for January.
Total revenues were $266 million, a 10 percent increase from 2010.
Bon-Ton, which operates 275 department stores, called
jewelry a “business with notable performance.”
Overall, the company’s comparable store sales for the four
weeks ended Jan. 29, 2011 increased 0.3 percent. Total sales were $180.1 million,
the same as the prior year.
