What to Gift a Jewelry Publicist This Holiday Season

Share

When one spends all of their time around jewelry, could it be possible the perfect gift for them this holiday season is…jewelry?

That’s more a rhetorical question, as any jewelry publicist would no doubt welcome the addition of something shiny to their collection—but the question is, how would they choose?

That was the question JCK had for these jewelry PR mavens: to tell us the jewels at the top of their wish lists this year. In addition, we wondered what these jewelry experts might gift friends or loved ones this holiday. If anyone knows the perfect gift, it must be them.

This holiday season I am wishing for the ultimate pair of hoops. It is true that I have a nice collection of hoops in my jewelry box that I have collected over 15 years, however I am looking for a diamond, statement, elevated version. Since visiting Yvonne Leon back in September in Paris, I could not stop thinking about the diamond pavé gold twisted pair she recently launched. They have the perfect amount of gold accent, and the sparkly diamond-encrusted design makes them the perfect hoop.

Timex x JA Legacy two-tone watch, $250; Jacquie Aiche

I will gifting my incredible team members the new Jacquie Aiche x Timex collaboration watch, which I think is the perfect giftable item, and my team was simply obsessed with them (who isn’t?). The pop of color, and, of course, the limited-edition aspect make these timepieces a fabulous gift.

I always love pieces that have positive messages, good vibes, and that are filled with love. Whether I am gifting or receiving, those messages always stay important to me. So I selected this diamond heart ring from Taylor K, Future Fortune’s lucky charm ring for extra luck, Susan Gordon’s lady bug earrings, and Elizabeth Moore’s heart necklace filled with love.

Sitting on top of my holiday wish list would be the Jade Ruzzo Tennessee ring—I love the chunky 18k gold and the way the diamonds dance on your finger. It’s a fun yet classic piece that would look good stacked or worn alone and would live in my jewelry collection forever. A dream piece! Lizzie Mandler’s mini double pear drop studs would make for the perfect gift—they are cool and edgy for anyone, especially if they have multiple ear piercings.

I feel like I’m really into talisman pendants and jewelry lately—there’s something fun and youthful yet classic about these symbols, and they’re able to say something about your personality without having to say anything at all.

I’m also into stacking dainty, classic rings on multiple fingers, and these are some must-haves that I’d wear daily. Great to gift yourself or a loved one too!

This year’s holiday season feels like a momentous one—2022 was busier than ever between work, family, and our new house. I definitely think a celebratory gift is in order! Here are some of my top picks (if anyone knows my husband, please feel free to pass along).

Hamilton Jewelers bracelet
Stretch bracelet in 18k yellow gold with 2.3 cts. t.w. diamonds, $6,300; Hamilton Jewelers

I am obsessed with this tennis bracelet from Hamilton Jewelers. It is stretchy, incredibly comfortable and beautifully made.

Robinson Pelham ID necklace
ID necklace with Identity bar connector in 18k yellow gold with diamonds, £7,175 ($8,720) (price for connector only); Robinson Pelham

Around Valentine’s Day I was looking to invest in Robinson Pelham’s Identity necklace. I did take the plunge and while I am thrilled with it as is, I am dying to add the Diamond ID Bar connector or one of their new ID hearts (how cute are they?!).

Serpentine Jewels pink pear sapphire
Pear pendant in 18k yellow gold with 5.09 ct. pink sapphire and diamonds, price on request; Serpentine Jewels

I cannot get this pink pear sapphire pendant out of my mind from Serpentine Jewels. It’s ultrafeminine, but it feels like a total power/statement piece.

Renisis Solo Pearl curl ring

I’m always looking to add to my ring stack, and this sculptural Renisis design is at the top of my list this Christmas! The mix of inverted diamonds with a South Sea white pearl feels edgy yet refined.

Lagos B initial charm
Initial charm in sterling silver and 18k yellow gold with 0.05 ct. t.w. diamonds, $650; Lagos

My sister has always been known as the “Queen B” in my family, so what could be more fitting than this diamond charm from Lagos? I love that it features the brand’s classic caviar beading with a touch of gold.

Valery Brinda Brioche diamond earrings

And for the woman who deserves it all—my mother—these Valery Brinda diamond studs are the perfect pair of timeless earrings that she can wear all year-round.

This year, as usual, I have too many pieces on my wish list. I did ask for a pair of Imperfect Grace mini diamond letter studs, and I’m also gifting a pair to my mom. Personalized pieces and chains have been super popular this year and are always the perfect gift. Of course I want a one-of-a-kind piece from M. Spalten—when someone loves jewelry as much as I do, being able to create a one-of-a-kind piece with a designer is the ultimate self gift, and I’m such a fan of M. Spalten collections. Ever since ParkFord came out with her iconic rainbow Revival necklace and new Infinite bracelet collection, I’ve been obsessing over both. I secretly wish to win a big Lotto jackpot so I can make my all my jewelry dreams come true and keep supporting amazing designers.

Kinraden-Doric-Mpingo-earring
Doric Mpingo earring in 18k yellow gold, $947 (sold as single); Kinraden

“The single statement earring is making a comeback, and I am obsessing over Kinraden’s iconic Doric earring. Kinraden has several versions in recycled silver and gold with mpingo blackwood, the brand’s precious material of choice. As a circular jewelry brand, they aim to use materials that have as little effect on the environment as possible, which is important to me when making new purchases. Kinraden founder Sarah Müllertz describes the shape of the Doric as “the moment just before a drop of water lands within the water.” I am in love.

Hannah Blount Grey Lady ring
Grey Lady ring in sterling silver, $250; Hannah Blount

The Grey Lady rings are a perfect gift for friends this Christmas. Handmade by Hannah Blount and inspired by art nouveau, the soft curves of the Grey Lady ring act as a mirror; her peaceful expression aims to bring calm to the wearer when they gaze upon it. Jewelry gifting for me is emotive, and I think this is a beautiful sentiment to share with friends as we embark on a new year together.

Mindi Mond emerald ring
Shield ring in 18k rhodium with 6.06 ct. Colombian emerald and 2.8 cts. t.w. old mine–cut diamonds, price on request; Mindi Mond

Everyone knows that my favorite color is green, and I’m always eyeing emeralds! Mindi Mond’s emerald diamond Shield ring has been a longtime favorite of mine, and at the top of my wish list. Mindi’s Colombian emeralds are always immaculately chosen, and this 6.06 carat shield cut emerald pairs perfectly with old mine diamonds. It is such a glamorous ring for a day at the office or a dinner date.

Jennifer Zeuner Perla earrings
Perla earrings in 14k gold-plated silver, $176; Jennifer Zeuner

The perfect gift for friends and family is always going to be a pair of Jennifer Zeuner hoops! Jennifer designs hoops for all occasions and personal styles. I love how she plays with different textures and shapes to create a super-unique hoop! Some of my personal favorites I’m gifting this year are the Perlas and the Ednas.

Nadine Aysoy Catena ring
Catena Illusion ring in 18k yellow gold with marquise-, pear-, and princess-cut diamonds, $5,545; Nadine Aysoy

If I could choose to find a piece of jewelry under my tree this year, I think it would have to be Nadine Aysoy’s Catena diamond illusion pear ring. The clever illusion setting gives the appearance of a bigger diamond, while it’s actually a cluster of marquise-, princess-, and pear-cut diamonds set within a chunky yellow gold chain. Dreamy!

Metier Astra pendant
Astra journey pendant in 14k yellow gold with 0.01 ct. diamond, £595 ($725); Metier by Tomfoolery

I think the Astra Diamond Pendant from Metier by Tomfoolery is a great option for gifting family or friends this Christmas. It offers affordable luxury, you don’t need to worry about sizing and it makes a wonderful everyday piece.

ITA Yari charm
Yari charm in yellow gold with gemstones (also shown at top); İTÄ

Narrowing down my selects really isn’t easy when I see beautiful jewelry every day, but at the top of my list is a Yari charm from the brand İTÄ. The collection literally just launched so it wouldn’t be here in time for Christmas, but trust me when I say it is worth the wait! Yari is believed to translate to “small jewel of gold” in the Taino language so basically a little golden nugget, and I really can’t get over that. Each side of the charm is fully customizable with different gemstones, motifs, and engravings. The possibilities are pretty endless. You can slide a variety of chains through the charm, which then spins (perfect for a someone who fidgets a lot, like me).

Lionheart diamond bangle
Birgitte bezel-set bangle in 14k yellow gold with 1.32 cts. t.w. diamonds, $4,575; Lionheart

Also on the top of my list is a thick gold bangle. I wear one everyday that is a family heirloom, but I would love to stack it with another “chunky” gold guy. I think the silhouette is really timeless and adding bezel-set diamonds like this one from Lionheart dresses it up just the right amount.
