Jewelry Information Center To Honor Madeleine K. Albright at GEM Awards

Jewelry Information Center will present former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright with the Style Award at its eighth annual GEM Awards gala, Friday, January 8th.

While serving as President Bill Clinton’s Secretary of State, Albright brought attention to the significance of fine jewelry by wearing brooches that purposefully reflected her views.

Albright’s new book, Read My Pins: Stories from a Diplomat’s Jewel Box and the supporting Museum of Arts and Design exhibition, Read My Pins: The Madeleine Albright Collection explore jewelry as a diplomatic, political and social tool. On display are more than 200 pins, many of which Dr. Albright wore to communicate a message during her diplomatic tenure.
