Statement necklaces and shoulder-sweeping colored gemstone earrings were among the trends spotlighted by the Jewelry Information Center at its July 31 Fine Jewelry Preview.

Other highlighted trends include unique colored gemstones, like boulder opals, watermelon tourmaline, and rough-cut quartz; sterling silver jewelry; big and bold pearls; and beyond-bridal platinum.

Editors from magazines such as InStyle, Lucky, and W Magazine, previewed more than 100 pieces of jewelry at the event.

“The jewelry showcased at the Fine Jewelry Preview gives editors a sneak peek at the must-have jewelry styles for the year to come,” Amanda Gizzi, director of communications for Jewelers of America, said in a statement.
