Jewelers for Children has donated $10,000 to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut following the tragic shootings in Newtown.
JFC board member John Green, of Lux Bond & Green, a seven-store chain in Connecticut, presented the check to the United Way on Dec. 21 at their offices in Danbury.
“Everyone was affected by this terrible tragedy and we felt that as an industry, we must make some gesture towards helping our friends in Newtown start the healing process,” Peter Engel, JFC board chair, said in a statement.
