Jewelers for Children (JFC) has announced the terms for its 2014 Local Grants program.
The program provides $10,000 grants to 10 local nonprofit organizations nominated by independent jewelers, and then the entire jewelry community votes on the winners. The nominating jeweler then presents the grant to the winning charities on behalf of the jewelry industry.
Nominations for the program will be open from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30. Voting, which will be done by the public via a Facebook campaign, will begin Oct. 6 and run two weeks. Winners will be announced on Oct. 22.
“Last year, Day’s Jewelers participated in JFC’s Local Grants program. We were able to earn a $10,000 grant for Camp Sunshine, a local charity dedicated to children in need,” said Day’s Jewelers’ Jeff Corey, also a JFC board member, in a statement. “It was a wonderful opportunity for Day’s, our customers, and our community to work together to help kids locally through JFC.”
More information, including nomination forms, are available at JFC’s website.
