Jeweler’s Fancy Footwork Benefits Charity

Nagi Osta, owner of Nagi Jewelers in Stamford, Conn., has become a local star by raising the most money for Curtain Call’s sixth annual Dancing with the Stars fundraiser.

The event, held at the Palace Theatre in Stamford on May 18, featured 11 community members paired with professional dancers. Osta was partnered with Rosa Fanelli of Arthur Murray Grand Ballroom in Greenwich, Conn.

The organization gave Osta the People’s Choice Award for raising the most money (more than $23,000) for the nonprofit theater company. Overall, $135,000 was raised, a record total for the event.

“We had a big campaign to raise the funds,” says Liz Osta, marketing manager of Nagi Jewelers. “We are grateful to everyone who donated money.”

For his performance, Osta danced the Charleston and swing, fittingly choreographed to “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”

Something tells me ABC’s latest DWTS champion Kelly Pickler may have some competition.
