Jewelers Board of Trade Elects First Female Board Chair

Phyllis Bergman, CEO of Mercury Ring, has been elected to chair the board of directors of the Jewelers Board of Trade.

Bergman is the first woman board chairperson in the organization’s 128-year history. She brings many years of jewelry experience and service to the role, having served as a president of the WJA and chair and president of the 24 Karat Club of New York. She is also board chair for the Diamond Empowerment Fund and a board member of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee and the Diamond Development Initiative.

“This is truly a milestone for our organization and for the jewelry industry,” Dione Kenyon, JBT president, said in a statement. “JBT will gain immensely from Phyllis’ experience, leadership skills, and perspective.”
