Jewel of the Month: Dilamani’s Sapphire Butterfly Brooch

It’s brooch season, ladies and gents. Never has there been a better time (or wardrobe) to make the excuse (not that we need one) to pin them on. My personal collection consists of an eclectic mix of Mickey Mouse, Jurassic Park, and childhood-earned buttons (I’m in Kindergarten!, one reads), but I’m absolutely willing for that group to take a more sophisticated, grown-up turn with an addition like this. Dilamani‘s colorful pavé piece makes my heart flutter: 19.89 cts. t.w. blue, yellow, and orange sapphires cover the body and are arranged in just the right pattern that they give the butterfly’s wings the appearance of movement. My October state of mind has me drooling over the autumal color combination, which would be just as welcome and relevant at any other time of the year. So, I repeat: It’s brooch season! If your customers (or you!) are looking for something new to pin to their jackets, hats, scarves, headbands, belts, bags, or whatever creative accessories they can come up with (I’m interested to see!), put this one on the list. Retailing at $6,600, it’s a bit of an upgrade from my Walt Disney World and elementary school–procured line of vintage beauties, but for those who can spare the change, I’d say its quite worth it, don’t you agree?
