Emily Armenta of Armenta in gave the press a sneak peek at her collection for spring 2013 yesterday, and I’m already in love with the first piece I laid eyes on: a massive lavenderite bracelet. It’s a material I’m not familiar with, but it looks like a cross between charoite and purple turquoise. A spokesperson told me it arrived at the firm in doublet form topped off by white quartz (which these stones are not), and that it’s also referred to as purpurite, another material I’d never heard of. Nevertheless, it’s hot; I love the plump, elongated emerald cuts accented by colorless diamonds, and the barely-there touches of blue sapphires. Set in oxidized silver with 18k gold, the bracelet is a one-of-a-kind piece that will retail for $18,100.
