J.C. Penney Parent Names Business Development Officer

Catalyst Brands, the parent company of J.C. Penney and other retail chains, has appointed Michael Fernandez its chief wholesale and business development officer.

In his new role, Fernandez will oversee all of Catalyst’s domestic and international wholesale operations, as well as business-to-business licensing efforts for its brands. He will report to Catalyst CEO Marc Rosen.

The Catalyst portfolio includes Aéropostale, Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Lucky Brand, and Nautica. Its companies operate more than 1,800 retail stores in total.

Prior to coming to Catalyst, Fernandez served as chief commercial officer and chief merchandising officer for the Levy Group, another collection of fashion brands.
