JCK’s Soucy, others receive Italian Jewelry Awards

Italian fashion, trade and jewelry organizations showcased Italian jewelry designs and awarded U.S. jewelry industry representatives who promote, market, and sell Italian jewelry during a fashion show and awards presentation July 26 at New York City’s Gotham Hall.

Titled “Global Revolution: The Expression of Italian Jewelry Now,” the event included the 2004 Italian Jewelry Awards, honoring four persons for excellence in journalism, sales, and marketing of Italian jewelry in the U.S. Among those receiving the award was Carrie Soucy, senior fashion editor of JCK magazine and Trendz magazine, and editor of Luxury International magazine.

Also receiving the honor were, Ed Bridge, chief executive officer of Ben Bridge Jewelers, Lauren Kulchinsky, co-vice president of Mayfair Diamonds and Fine Jewelry, and Jill Newman, a journalist who specializes in the coverage of fine jewelry.

The fashion show was presented in four parts: “Classic Style,” “Nouveau Baroque,” “The Best of 20’s-30’s,” and “New Tribes.” Models, wearing the jewelry designs of more than 40 jewelers, strolled the runway then walked onto the floor so the invited guest could receive a close-up view of the baubles. The fashion show included trends and jewelry forecasts.

The event was co-sponsored by the Vicenza Trade Fair, the Italian Trade Commission, Trends + Jewellery Forecasting, and Giuliana Teso.
