The JCK Las Vegas team has announced a slew of events and happenings for the 2014 show. Among the perks attendees can expect from the annual four-day Vegas fair: an address to all retailers from De Beers CEO Philippe Mellier; an improved floor plan; the introduction of a Food Truck Alley; the inaugural Diamonds in the Sky event; the return of the Jewelers for Children Rings of Strength tour; and the fourth annual JCK Rocks the Beach event headlined by Grammy Award–winning artist Rob Thomas.
De Beers CEO Philippe Mellier will deliver the keynote address on the Friday afternoon of the show. This is the first time the industry giant is addressing an all-inclusive industry audience, with attendees previously composed only of Forevermark retailers.
Showgoers can expect smoother sailing around the show floor—wider aisles will prevent traffic jams—and the new JCK Match, an exhibitor recommendation program, promises to ease navigation. Visitors using the JCK Mobile app will be notified of what’s around them on the floor and led to their points of interest based on product category and price point (a simple survey at registration time will help match exhibitors with attendees). When it comes time to break for lunch, four trucks per day—aka Food Truck Alley—will line up near the Bayside entrance, where guests can dine on affordable, quality meals in a cooling and tented eating area.
“With JCK Las Vegas just over two months away, the excitement is definitely starting to build,” said JCK Events group vice president Yancy Weinrich. “With new events, headliners, and entertainment at JCK and LUXURY, we’re always striving to infuse a healthy dose of fun to complement the week’s business agenda. We’re also thrilled to welcome the Diamond Empowerment Fund’s Diamonds in the Sky event to the week’s agenda.”
In a celebration that always promises to close the show on a high note, the JCK Rocks the Beach party, sponsored by Effy, will be headlined by Matchbox Twenty frontman–turned–solo artist Rob Thomas. A new ticket format will be in place for 2014; attendees can pick up their tickets (one per badge) at JCK’s Ticket Distribution Centers throughout the show.
