The World Federation of Diamond Bourses announced that JCK magazine—one of the most veteran and respected monthly diamond, gem and jewelry trade publications—has agreed to join the WFDB Mark Associate Members Program.
The announcement came after Mark Smelzer, the publisher of JCK magazine, and Howard Pomerantz, executive vice president of Gem Certification and Assurance Lab, who also is WFDB’s global Ambassador appointed to spearhead the program and involve trade organizations and leading international trade publications, came to understanding that JCK magazine would help advance and publicize the WFDB Mark to its readership.
“We’re extremely pleased that JCK has agreed to join the program,’ said Pomerantz, “The advertising program for the WFDB Mark that Mark Smelzer and his publication have committed to, represents the equivalent of a substantial financial contribution to the WFDB.”
Pomerantz recalled that the WFDB Mark had been created by the WFDB as for the professional buyer of diamonds, trust in one’s supplier is fundamental element in any successful business relationship.
“Trust breeds confidence, another essential component in the trade. But in a global economy, where commerce is conducted at lightning speed across great distances, how can a diamond buyer achieve the degree of trust that inspires confidence? To provide a solution, the World Federation of Diamond Bourses introduced The WFDB Mark,” Pomerantz said.
Pomerantz said he expects the first WFDB Mark to appear in the JCK issue of July.
