BIJC webinar NovThe Black in Jewelry Coalition hosts the final webinar in its “So you have jewelry designs, now what?” educational series this week, with a session on pricing and placement in jewelry stores. Guests Jeffery Bolling, district manager of Signet Jewelers, and Manos Phoundoulakis, director of happiness at EZEC Inc., will share insights into optimizing pricing models and navigating the process of getting your unique jewelry pieces into retail locations.

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), aka the Oscars of the luxury watch industry, takes over the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva on Thursday. The 2023 competition, which highlights timepieces in 15 categories—including Men’s Complication, Jewelry, and Challenge (restricted to watches that retail for 2,000 Swiss francs, about $2,207, or less)—has attracted 230 entries.

Salon Art + Design: Nov. 9–13 (in person)

The Salon Art + Design show opens in New York on Thursday. In addition to featuring a jewelry exhibition—curated by the Hudson, N.Y., gallery Elevated Matter to highlight the work of designers Chris Davies, Stella Flame, Elizabeth Garvin, Anthony Lent, and Andy Lif—the fair will showcase jewelry by Yvel, Silvia Furmanovich (who will also show her new home line), Didier Ltd., Rosior, and more.

Phillips’ Geneva Jewels Auction: Nov. 6 (in person and online)

Best known for its art and watch sales, Phillips is kicking off its inaugural Geneva Jewels auction with a 20.19 ct. fancy intense pink diamond, the star of the sale. The 110-lot auction, taking place at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, also includes important diamonds, signed jewels, colored stones, and a curated selection of pieces by contemporary designers.

Vienna 1900: An Imperial and Royal Collection” goes on the block at Sotheby’s Geneva this week. Representing the grandeur of Viennese court life, the single-owner sale comprises over 200 pieces recently discovered in a bank vault—the make up the largest collection of Austrian royal jewelry ever to come to auction.

The star lot of Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels in Geneva this week is “the Blue Lagoon,” a 93.94 ct. paraiba tourmaline in a bespoke necklace by Adler. But the sale has an embarrassment of other riches, including Mughal-inspired jewels by Cartier and a 19.03 ct. Kashmir sapphire.
