The Plumb Club recently dropped two podcasts for November. In the one titled “Shining Opportunities,” Dov Tannenbaum, a principal at Leo Schachter Diamonds, discusses the impact of the rise in lab-grown diamonds, provides insights into the market, debunks myths on value, and provides tips on how retailers can use the category for differentiation and to appeal to a broader customer base. The Rapaport Group is holding its second auction of natural pearls at its New York office Nov. 27–29. The sale features natural pearls sourced directly from a sustainable diving operation in Bahrain and certified natural by DANAT, the Bahrain Institute for Pearls & Gemstones.
Hellenic Initiative Auction: through Dec. 2 (online)

Founded in 2012, the Hellenic Initiative is a global nonprofit mobilizing the Greek diaspora and philhellene community to support sustainable economic recovery and renewal for the Greek people. Its 11th Annual New York Gala silent auction, which runs through Dec. 2, features art, fashion, food, home, luxury destinations, and special experiences, not to mention a great selection of Greek jewels.
Tomfoolery London Art Ring Exhibit: through Jan. 24 (online)

London’s Tomfoolery boutique is hosting a new edition of its Art Ring exhibit, a showcase of bold artisan creativity that runs through Jan. 24, 2024. The 29 independent designers in the show each created a ring that exemplifies their distinctive style and techniques—resulting in a wild array of looks that makes for an inspired jewelry adventure for visitors.
Sotheby’s Mary Tyler Moore Auction: through Dec. 7 (online)

Jewelry that was owned by TV icon Mary Tyler Moore will go on the block as part of Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Fine Jewels auctions in New York this December. Proceeds from the 21 pieces will benefit the Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative, an organization that supports work to preserve or restore vision in people with diabetes. Highlights from the collection will be on public display starting Dec. 1. The Magnificent Jewels sale takes place on Dec. 5, and the Fine Jewels auction is open for bidding through Dec. 7.
