If you’re anything like us, you’re still in post–JCK Las Vegas recovery mode. Ease back into work this week with a couple of Phillips auctions and a charming brooch exhibition, all in New York City.

“Put a Brooch on It” at the Jewelry Library in NYC: June 12, 5 p.m. ET (in person)

Danielle deCongé, the Jewelry Library’s guest curator, is debuting a brooch project that’s part Instagram diary, part performance art, and part jewelry exhibition, inviting jewelry lovers everywhere to shift their perspective on brooches. “Put a Brooch on It” kicks off on June 12 with the first of TJL’s new series of “Shop Talk” events, moderated by deCongé with a panel of brooch experts, including studio jeweler Patricia Madeja, a goldsmith and professor of jewelry at Pratt Institute; Rosena Sammi, founder of the Jewelry Edit; and Vanessa Samet of Vanessa’s Vintage. Phillips’ New York Watch Auction: X: June 8–9, 10 a.m. ET (in person and online)

Phillips’ 10th New York Watch auction, held in association with Bacs & Russo, includes more than 150 of the world’s finest watches. The top selections, according to the house’s New York–based watch department, include a 1971 Universal Genève Compax “Exotic” ref. 885.107 in stainless steel, a 2023 Cartier Crash ref. WGCH0087 in 18k yellow gold with customized green hour markers, and a circa 2007 F.P. Journe Vagabondage III in platinum, No. 60 of 69. But the sale is loaded with Rolexes, pocket watches (Part 2 of a private collection whose first half sold in Hong Kong in May), and shaped styles, offering a little something for everyone.

A fancy vivid yellow diamond weighing just over 45 carats, with an estimated value of $2.8 million to $3.5 million, leads Phillips’ New York Jewels auction this week. The 125-lot sale, according to JCK’s Annie Davidson Watson, “boasts an impressive selection of colored diamonds and gemstones, period jewelry, and designs by prestigious brands including Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, and Bulgari.”
