No more Tucson gem week FOMO! While some industry folks may be wrapping up their shopping in everyone’s favorite place to hunt for treasure, plenty of us are headed to New York for a concurrence of jewelry shows. All have a slant toward independent, emerging, and undiscovered designers. There may be a chill in the air as you make your way around the city, but get ready—things are about to get very hot!
ATTEND
NY Now at the Javits Center: Feb. 4–7 (in person)
To maximize our time at this sprawling event—home to many of our favorite names in fine jewelry—we will be making a beeline for the Emerging Fine Jewelry Designer (EFJD) showcase, spearheaded by Liz Kantner and Robin Kramer, two jewelry mentors and consultants with a combined 30+ years’ experience navigating the designer fine jewelry market. Located in the show’s Luxury Lifestyle section, this group presents a great opportunity to check out unsung designers: Crevette Design Studio, Deborah Meyers Experience, Gwen Beloti, Hilary Finck Jewelry, I Seira, Karin Luvaas Jewelry, Kelsey Simmen, Lindsey L. Allen, Macadam, Rachel Jones Jewellery, Tasmin Rasor, and Universal Deco.
NouvelleBox at the Hotel Chelsea in NYC: Feb. 4–6 (in person)
A new show, NouvelleBox, makes its debut in the iconic Hotel Chelsea, where Daren Hildrow, founder and director of the Paris-based showroom NouvelleBox, has selected an elite group of 13 jewelry designers. This intimate gathering of top-tier talent will provide an opportunity to spend valuable one-on-one time with designers like Nak Armstrong, Ashley Zhang, Hargreaves Stockholm, Milamore, Van Gelder, and more. Bonus: No registration required.
Melee the Show NY at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers: Feb. 5–7 (in person)
People have been posting from the Tucson outpost of this fab show all week, and now the fun comes to NYC (finally!). Our editors will be there checking out the latest from Almasika, Amáli, Anthony Lent, Jane Taylor, Dan-Yell, Dana Bronfman, and others. A great place to visit with industry friends, too, when you’re not as crazed as we all tend to be in Vegas. Looking at you, Bob and Rose-Marie Goodman!
