
Fourth of July comes this Friday, which might mean a much-deserved long weekend for you and your staff. Saturday and Sunday could be slow, or they could be high-traffic days due to promos and sales. If it’s the former, maybe photograph some of your best ruby pieces for the ’gram, and start making plans for the third and fourth quarter. NYC Jewelry Week Open Call: Through June 30

The highly anticipated industry event runs Nov. 17–23, and the founders’ open call for programming ideas ends Monday. Ideas that qualify: exhibitions, product launches, panel discussions, shopping events, talks, and more. So you need to hurry—apply here ASAP.
Gem Award Nominations: Through July 30

The 2026 Gem Awards are a million miles away (March 13, 2026), but Jewelers of America is kicking off the nomination process with its announcement that they are accepting “gem” candidates for its array of awards and honors now through July 30. As was the case last year, each submission must be self-nominated. All info here.
AGTA Spectrum & Cutting Edge Awards: Through Oct. 10

As many industry pros already know, the American Gem Trade Association’s annual competition has two divisions: Spectrum is geared toward finished jewelry, including rings, pendants, and earrings. Cutting Edge focuses on nonwearable items such as cut gemstones, carvings, and more. Use of natural colored gemstones, natural pearls, or cultured pearls required for consideration; submit your entry here (fees apply).
