JCK Group Receives Three Magazine Awards

Rob Bates, JCK senior editor, received a Gold Eddie Award for his article “Whatever Became of Sierra Leone?” which appeared in the Oct. 2006 issue of JCK magazine. Bates’ award was one of three received by the JCK International Publishing Group during the presentation of Ozzie and Eddie awards, held Sunday at the New York Marriott Marquis.

JCK Luxury magazine received two awards: A Silver Eddie for its Winter 2007 issue, and a Silver Ozzie for the design of its Summer 2006 issue. Carrie Soucy os the editor of JCK Luxury and Todd Gast is the art director.

Both Eddie awards for were in the “Business to Business: Retail” category of the program. The Ozzie award was in the category of “Best Feature Design: B-to-B under 100,000 circulation.”

Sponsored by Folio: magazine, the Eddie Awards honors editorial excellence while the Ozzie Awards honors design excellence. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded in each category.

A panel of more than 100 judges—including editors, publishers, creative directors and Web masters—considering roughly 3,000 entries in more than 100 categories submitted by magazine publishers spanning the globe.
