J.C. Penney Adds Two New Execs Amid CEO Changeover

J.C. Penney added execs from Target and Home Depot to its top ranks as Marvin Ellison took over as president and CEO.

Mike Robbins, formerly the senior vice president of global supply chain for Target, will join Penney Aug. 10 as senior vice president of supply chain. He replaces Marie Lacertosa, who is retiring after 30 years.

Michael Amend was appointed executive vice president of omnichannel beginning Aug. 4. Amend, like new CEO Ellison, used to work for Home Depot. He replaces Mike Rodgers, who, a statement says, has left to pursue other interests.

Ellison became CEO on Aug. 1, replacing Myron (Mike) Ullman III, who has held the post since April 2013. On July 27, one of Ullman’s last days as CEO, he watched senior vice president and general merchandise manager of fine jewelry, watches, and fashion accessories Pam Mortenson win the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Women’s Jewelry Association.
