The company was recognized with the Prize of Excellence for Diamond Exports from Israel to Japan
The Japan-Israel Chamber of Commerce presented S. Schnitzer Diamonds with an award honoring the Israeli business’ relationship with Japan.
The Prize of Excellence for Diamond Exports from Israel to Japan for 2015 was presented as part of the chamber of commerce’s 60th anniversary.
“We are privileged to have been engaged with the Japanese diamond and jewelry sector for so long,” Shmuel Schnitzer, company chairman, said in a statement. “We therefore thank all our Japanese friends and business partners who have helped us in achieving this award and look forward to further expanding our activity in this market, which is so close to our hearts.”
Shai Schnitzer, the company’s president and Shmuel’s son, also released a statement.
“The Schnitzer family has been doing business with Japan for almost 70 years,” he said. “My grandfather, Moshe Schnitzer, began trading with Japan in the early 1950s, long before the Japanese adopted the diamond wedding ring tradition, and the ensuing, exponential growth of the Japanese diamond jewelry market. We have since built close, strong, and multigenerational relationships with clients in Japan, and have been working with them through both good times and challenging times.”
