Veteran De Beers executive Jamie Mordaunt will join the management team of I. Hennig Botswana.
Mordaunt will relocate to Gaborone to join Tshebetso Kgatlwane in the company’s Botwana office.
“This appointment is part of our expansion plans for the transformation of our Botswana office into a major hub,” said Arik Sela, Hennig’s managing director, in a statement.
Mordaunt earned a degree in mechanical engineering and spent 13 years working for De Beers, eventually joining the DTC’s sales department, where he was involved in sightholder client management. He was part of the management team responsible for the launch of Forevermark in Hong Kong, China, Japan, and India. Following De Beers, he launched Diamond Thrills, a jewelry rental service for the United Kingdom.
