James Bond’s Breitling Top Time Watch Sells for $160,175 at Christie’s

James Bond’s Breitling Top Time watch, worn by Sean Connery in the 1965 movie Thunderball, sold for $160,175 at Christie’s during its Pop Culture sale on June 26.

Made by Breitling in 1962, the watch was adapted by the James Bond art department and was the only example produced for the movie. It was the first watch to be modified by the famous “Q Branch” and is equipped with a fictional “Geiger counter,” which in the film detects the emission of nuclear radiation.

The timepiece, which was bought at a garage sale for about $30, was estimated to earn between $60,500 and $90,750.
