JA Introduces Bench Jeweler Scholarships

Share

Jewelers of America (JA) has announced a new scholarship program aimed at bringing talent into the bench jeweler profession.

Seymour & Evelyn Holtzman Bench Scholarships of $2,000 to $5,000 will be awarded to students enrolled in a jewelry or metalsmithing program at an accredited college, university, or training school.

The scholarships are a joint venture between JA and the Hotlzmans (pictured), owners of CD Peacock, a Chicago-based jewelry store.

Applications are open through June 12. Recipients, to be selected by a committee, will be announced by July 23.

In addition to offering the new Holtzman scholarships, Jewelers of America is now accepting applications from employees of member companies for scholarships to programs by the American Gem Society (AGS), Diamond Council of America (DCA), GIA, National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA), and JA’s bench professional certification.

More information on all the scholarships can be found here.
