Jewelers of America Is Now Offering Affordable Health Care Plans to Members

Jewelers of America (JA) has forged a partnership with insurance provider MJM Global to offer its retail and supplier member companies access to affordable health care plans. Through the partnership, JewelersHealthCare.com, JA members can pick from health care plans for as few as two individuals.

“We know accessing competitive health care rates and administrating health plans for small to mid-size jewelry businesses is a major challenge,” said JA president and chief executive officer David J. Bonaparte in a statement. “This new member benefit could be a game changer for Jewelers of America members, because health care management is becoming increasingly expensive and complex to navigate, and JewelersHealthCare.com removes these obstacles.”

JA relayed in the same statement that the health care plans have the potential to reduce health care costs (including out-of-pocket expenses) for JA members’ businesses, employees, and families—costs of the plans are approximately 8–12 percent lower than plans that can be procured on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) open market. Additionally, the enrollment process for plans has been intentionally simplified.

MJM Global Insurance Brokerage Group has been providing insurance for jewelers and jewelry businesses for more than 70 years. MJM currently serves more than 3,000 businesses, professionals, and households throughout the United States and abroad.

Jewelers of America will be hosting an informational webinar on health care options on June 13. You can learn more and register for the webinar here.

“Ninety-seven percent of Americans do not know what their insurance covers, and the process of shopping for and enrolling in coverage remains a significant burden to employers and employees,” said  MJM Global Insurance vice president Richard Reiman in the same statement. “This partnership between Jewelers of America and MJM Global offers a solution to jewelry companies looking for access to competitive insurance rates.”
