Nissim Zuaretz, president of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association, has also been elected president of the Israel Diamond Exchange, the nation’s Ramat Gan–based bourse.

He will serve for a three-year term.

Zuaretz, 50, is the owner of DN Diamonds, which has won the title of Outstanding Exporter from the Israel Diamond Institute three times in the past decade.

“For 28 years, I have dedicated my life to our precious diamond industry, and I commit to continue working for its benefit,” he said in a statement. “This is undoubtedly a period full of challenges for the country and the diamond industry in particular, which is in severe crisis and requires rehabilitation and dedicated plans to grow it back. I believe that with innovation, creativity, proper work, and complete transparency, we will succeed in setting a new path and ensuring the profession’s future for the younger generation.”
