India at JCK Las Vegas 2008

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council has organized the India Pavilion at JCK Las Vegas 2008, which runs through Tuesday.

The pavilion is located at Level 1, Sands Expo Convention Centre, Las Vegas. It has 76 exhibitors occupying113 booths.

India provides new sourcing opportunities for jewelers from around the world. For long the direct supply centre for diamonds and colored gemstones, it is today one of the leading supplier of jewelry that has the ability to craft the products to match the global demand in all segments. It’s no secret that more and more jewelry retailers and chains are sourcing from India to give them the extra winning edge.

India’s exports of gems and jewelry totaled $19.79 billion, of which 32 percent went to the U.S. India is the largest trading partner of the U.S in this sector. The business relationship between the two countries has grown through the years and is expected to attain grand stature this year. JCK show has always been an important platform to develop & enrich the Indo-U.S. business relationship pertaining to the Gem & Jewellery trade.

US being the major export destination, this show offers pro-business environment to further penetrate the Indo-US business pipeline,” said Sanjay A Kothari, GJEPC chairman. “JCK is expected to be a trendsetter, here styles are introduced, innovated and standards are set for the year to come. India’s growing  presence at the show with increased Indian exhibitor’s participation and an increase in visitor footfalls along with an  increment in business is the testimony of JCK being a major show for the Indian Gem & Jewellery Industry as well as for the world, those who are inclined to trade with USA”.

Indian Exhibitors at JCK 2008 will present high-end diamond jewelry, gold and platinum jewelry, Fine jewelry, loose diamonds and precious stones, precious colored gemstones, pearls, and beads and silver jewelry.

GJEPC organized a breakfast Saturday at Toscana in the Sands Expo Center to announce and promote the second edition of the “Indo-US Jewelry Business Relationship Development Conference” scheduled to be held in Mumbai Sept 9 – 12. The conference will witness a series of educational speakers and group discussions addressing key business topics of interest concerning the U.S. retailers and the Indian jewelry manufacturers.
