International Diamond Laboratories said Thursday that it will officially launch its operations in India during the India International Jewellery Show in Mumbai (Aug. 30-Sept. 3) and unveil its new technology that allows scientifically based and consistent diamond grading during seminars and an invitation only diner.

“The choice to launch International Diamond Laboratories in Mumbai underlines the importance of the Indian community to the diamond business,” said Peter Meeus, IDL chief executive officer. “We are excited to present our products first to the world’s leading manufacturing center and the world’s fastest growing retail market.”

IDL will officially be launched on Aug. 30 during an invitation only diner event at the Hilton Towers, Mumbai.

The new diamondlab will operate a booth at IIJS presenting its products and services to the expected 35,000 local and international visitors.

IDL will also host seminars on the new technology it developed to increase consistency in diamond grading Aug. 31 and on its unique products and services Sept. 2.

The IDL Mumbai office that will open after the IIJS is located in Opera House on the 5th floor of Mani Mahal Building on Mathew Road.
