IDI Ceases Publication of ‘Hayahalom’

The longtime editor of the Hebrew diamond-trade publication has announced her retirement

The Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) will cease publication of Hayahalom (The Diamond), its Hebrew-language trade publication, as its longtime editor Shira Ami retires.

The magazine, the only diamond-trade magazine published in Hebrew, was founded in 1944 and began regular production in 1967 with the founding of the IDI.

Ami has edited the magazine for 34 years.

“Shira Ami led Hayahalom with creativity and dedication to become a high-quality magazine,” said Shmuel Schnitzer, chairman of IDI. “With her retirement we decided to rethink the publication of a printed magazine and are now considering alternative options. We thank Shira for her many years of contribution to the Israeli Diamond Industry and wish her success in her future endeavors.”
