The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has contributed $1 million to establish a fund-raising campaign on behalf of the global shopping center industry to provide cash contributions to organizations that are providing direct relief to the victims of the 2004 South Asia and East Africa tsunami.
“The global shopping center industry is showing its commitment to helping the victims of the tsunami by contributing financial support to several international organizations that are providing direct relief to victims of the disaster,” ICSC President and CEO Michael P. Kercheval.
In addition to the $1 million contribution, ICSC has established a Web site, http://tsumanirelief.icsc.org, so that shopping center professionals throughout the world can make a donation to a coordinated industry effort. “We are encouraging our 50,000 worldwide members to contribute what they can collectively or individually to this effort,” Kercheval said.
