The ICA GemBureau is releasing the second installment of its digital slide library at the JCK show in Las Vegas (June 4-8). The first installment came out this past February, in time for the Tucson Gem Shows.
Until the beginning of this year, the International Colored Gemstone Association’s collection of colored gemstone images was contained on 35-millimeter slides. However, since the beginning of 2004, the ICA GemBureau in Israel has digitally scanned the majority of these images.
The slide project was initiated in the mid-1980s by Cheryl Kremkow, the first GemBureau director and the first editor of the ICA Gazette.
In September, when it releases the third and final installment of the gemstone image library, the ICA GemBureau plans to make the content widely available to its membership, the trade press and the general media.
At the JCK show, ICA will be sharing exhibition space with CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation. The booth is located at the Foyer, booth 114. Copies of the new slide library series will be available to members of the trade press at the booth.
