ICA Names New Ambassador to China

The International Colored Gemstone Association appointed Yu Xiaojin as the new ICA Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China. He replaces Zhengfa Liu, who has retired from the trade.

“China is an important frontier for the gem and jewelry industry and our new ambassador is in a unique position to help us achieve our goals for this fast-growing market,” said ICA president Joseph Menzie.

Xiaojin is president of Bonny Gemstone, Inc in Beijing and teaches mineralogy and gemology at the Beijing University of Science & Technology. He is the vice secretary-general of Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China responsible for international public relations. He actively participates in organizing international trade shows in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen in China and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the gem and jewelry industry.

“I am looking forward to providing the much-needed inside information on China to ICA for broader distribution,” Xiaojin said.

Xiaojin’s appointment brings the number of current ICA Ambassadors to 36 worldwide.
