The International Colored Gemstone Association will conduct its fifth international poster competition at its next congress, May 5-10, 2009, in Panyu, Guangzhou—China’s largest jewelry manufacturing area.
Participation in these competitions, dedicated to the promotion of colored gemstones, has grown to more than 150 posters from nearly 30 countries.
Posters from previous competitions can be seen on the ICA Web site.
Sponsors for the ICA Congress 2009 are the National Gemstone Testing Center in Beijing, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Panyu Branch, and Woldmart Jewelry & Gems Emporium (HK) Ltd.
The Panyu ICA Congress will mark the special relations between China and ICA will salute the thousands of years of Chinese heritage in using gemstones.
By organizing these competitions ICA encourages its members as well as members of the colored gemstone community at large, art students and graphic designers to find new, creative ideas to promote the trade of colored gemstones.
The posters should be colorful, sized: 35-50 cm (12-20 inch) and should carry the ICA logo and official name. The logo and ICA official name can be download from the ICA Web site. A written slogan can be added. All written information should be in English. However, ICA strongly encourages designers to add the slogan also in their national language and express the vast interest in colored gemstone worldwide.
Participants must submit a color printout of the poster in the size of A4, along with the file on disk in one of the following formats: pdf, jpeg, eps, tif. The file should not be smaller than 36 MB and the resolution no less than 300 DPI.
The deadline for submitting posters is Dec. 31.
The color print and the file on disk should be submitted only to the coordinator of the organizing committee (contact details below).
By submitting a poster to the competition one declares that he is the owner of the images used in the poster and he is allowed to use them, that he knows and accepts that his poster will be used by ICA in any form and way the organization will choose to do so while crediting the designer and not altering the design in any way.
All the works that will participate in the competition will be exhibited in ICA congress in Panyu, China and will be used by the association in its publications to promote the trade of colored gemstone worldwide.
