The International Colored Gemstone Association will host the fourth ICA International Poster Competition at the next ICA Congress taking place in Dubai, April 28 – May 2, 2007, marking the first time the Congress will be held in the Gulf region. Participation in the competition, dedicated to the promotion of colored gemstones, has grown following previous competitions held in Sydney, Australia, 2001; Jaipur, India, 2003, and Bangkok, Thailand, 2005.
By organizing these competitions ICA encourages its members, as well as members of the colored gemstone community at large, art students, and graphic designers to find new, creative ideas to promote the usage, appreciation, and trade of colored gemstones.
All entries to the competition will be exhibited during the ICA Congress in Dubai and will be used by the association in its publications to promote colored gemstones worldwide. Each designer may submit up to three different poster designs. By submitting a poster each participant declares that ICA is entitled to use the poster in anyway it chooses.
ICA officials and members of the public will compose the judging committee and will select the winners. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners at the Congress Gala Dinner.
Guidelines for entries: The posters should be colorful, size: 35 by 50 cm (12 by 20 inches) and should carry the ICA logo and name in full. A written slogan can be added. All written information should be in English; however, ICA encourages designers to add the slogan also in their native language.
Participants must submit a color printout of the poster, along with the file on disk in one of the following formats: pdf, jpeg, eps, tif. The file should not be smaller than 36 MB and the resolution no less than 300 DPI. The deadline for submitting posters is Dec. 31, 2006. The color print and the file on disk should be submitted to the Coordinator of the Organizing Committee. Contact information follows:
