The fourth ICA International Poster Competition, dedicated to colored gemstones, will take place at the ICA Congress, being held in Dubai,May 5-9, 2007. The venue for the Congress is the Al Murooj Rotana Hotel & Suites, part of the Al Murooj complex in Dubai’s business district.
Prizes for the winners of the competition are as follows:
First Place, $1,500.
Second Place, $750
Third Place, $250
By organizing these competitions ICA encourages its members, as well as members of the colored gemstone community at large, art students, and graphic designers to find new, creative ideas to promote the usage, appreciation, and trade of colored gemstones.
All entries will be exhibited during the ICA Congress and will be used by the association in its publications to promote colored gemstones worldwide. Each designer may submit up to three different poster designs. By submitting a poster each participant declares that ICA is entitled to use the poster anyway it chooses.
ICA officials and members of the public will compose the judging committee and will select the winners. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners at the Congress Gala Dinner.
Entry guidelines. The posters should be colorful, size: 35 x 50 cm (12 x 20 inches) and should carry the ICA logo and name in full. A written slogan can be added. All written information should be in English; however, ICA encourages designers to add the slogan also in their native language.
Participants must submit a color printout of the poster, along with the file on disk in one of the following formats: pdf, jpeg, eps, tif. The file should not be smaller than 36 MB and the resolution no less than 300 DPI.
The deadline for submitting posters is Dec. 31.

Participation in this competition, dedicated to the promotion of colored gemstones, has grown following previous competitions held in Sydney, Australia, 2001; Jaipur, India, 2003 and Bangkok, Thailand, 2005. Posters from the previous competitions can be seen on ICA web-site: www.gemstone.org
