IADC Plans Retailer Buying Trips to India

The Indo Argyle Diamond Council, an organization made up of India jewelry manufacturers, is organizing two buying trips to India for U.S. retailers this year.

The trips are scheduled for July and September. IADC, a division of MVI Marketing Ltd., Paso Robles, Calif., said it will make all the travel arrangements, appointments, and business requirements.

“We will talk to every retailer coming on the trip to find out their particular needs and direct them to several companies that can service them,” said Keith Dillmeier, IADC president. “The trip will include the SEEPZ area for finished jewelry and Opera House district for loose polished diamonds and color stones in Mumbai, plus New Delhi and a side trip to the Taj Mahal.”

Some trip costs will be covered by the IADC. Retailers will be offered the ability to customize their travel dates, which will affect overall costs.

“As a part of our IADC program, we have worked with and escorted many retailers to India to facilitate relationships between them and the best diamond cutters/dealers and jewelry manufacturers India has to offer,” said Liz Chatelain, CEO of MVI Marketing Ltd.

“Many mid-level and independent retailers had requested our help in organizing a trip to India so they may also buy from the best Indian manufacturers at the same great pricing offered to major retailers” added Dillmeier. “I went to India in 1997 when I was a retailer, and saw first-hand the benefits of buying from Indian companies, either as a direct import or through their U.S. offices at the same low prices.”

Retailers who are interested should contact Dillmeier at kdillmeier@mvimarketing.com, or (800) 797-4232 ext. 110.
