Hruschka Joins Chanel as VP of watches, jewelry

Marc Hruschka has joined Chanel as vice president of watches and fine jewelry. The announcement was made June 10 by Barbara Cirkva, executive vice president of fashion, fine jewelry and watches for Chanel Inc. Hruschka will report directly to Cirkva.

At Chanel, Hruschka will be responsible for both the wholesale and retail business of watches and fine jewelry. This includes overseeing the wholesale watch business in fine jewelry and specialty stores in the U.S., and Chanel’s eight U.S. jewelry boutiques (six on the mainland, two in Hawaii).

Hruschka had been vice president of retail merchandising, marketing, wholesale and communications for Van Cleef & Arpels. Prior to that, he was senior vice president, corporate division at Ashford.com, a luxury goods Internet retailer, and had been national manager, specialty stores, for Cartier Inc. He also worked for Mont Blanc and for Tiffany’s in Houston.

“Hruschka’s extensive retail, wholesale, merchandising, marketing and international experience will be key [to] continued growth of the watch and fine jewelry boutique and wholesale business in the U.S.,” said a company spokesman.
