How to Delight at Your Show Booth: Lessons From Thyreos Vassiliki

Walking the show floor and meeting with jewelers from around the world and seeing their new designs in person is one of the best parts of attending the great jewelry shows, and I loved exploring the booths when I attended the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show earlier this month.

One experience blew me away, however. When I stopped by Thyreos Vassiliki, the Athens-based designer, on the last day of the show, I thought I’d check out a few new pieces quickly and be on my way. Instead, designer Vassiliki Theodorakidi and her team welcomed me with open arms and open cases, draping me with golden jewels (including a necklace that had just returned from a Vogue shoot) while their friend Konstantin treated me to an impromptu photo shoot of my own as I chatted with Theodorakidi about her incredible work.

Konstantin just sent me the photos, and they are a great reminder of a fun afternoon spent with Theodorakidi and her team—and, of course, of her spectacular jewels.

Designers, dress your buyers in your designs, take pictures of them, and share them after the date. If they’re as wowed by the attention as I was, you’ll be sure to have new customers—or at least a smitten blogger or two.
