Get these events on your schedule before you go to the show

Back for 2016, the popular JCK Talks series, the educational arm of the JCK Las Vegas jewelry show, is ready to go with a vibrant schedule of topics and participants. Diving in on important topics such as long-standing customer retention, lab-grown diamonds, e-commerce, and selling to the LGBT community, the discussions will welcome a number of industry leaders and will kick off on June 2, one day before the actual show begins. In addition to the powerful discussions of JCK Talks is a series of daily fashion presentations to take place throughout the week. Situated on the show floor near the Design Center and Bridge neighborhoods, jewelry pieces will be handpicked straight from the show floor by costume designers and brought to life by a panel of top editors and tastemakers providing commentary. Highlights from the schedule of informative talks and fun events are below.

Thursday, June 2

11–11:45 a.m. | Tradewinds C/D, Pool Level

Hug Your Customers

An opportunity to see the chairman of Mitchell Stores, Jack Mitchell, author of Hug Your Customers, which elaborates on the importance of personal relationships in a sales environment and maintaining customer loyalty.

1:15–2 p.m. | Tradewinds C/D, Pool Level

Lab-Grown Diamonds: Threat or Opportunity (or Both?)

This session is moderated by JCK magazine’s news director Rob Bates, and panelists including Stuller VP of diamonds and gemstones Stanley Zale, Gabriel & Co. CEO Jack Gabriel, Diamond Foundry master diamond cutter Maarten de Witte, GIA research fellow James Shigley, and Diamond Producers Association CEO Jean-Marc Lieberherr, will present opinions on both sides of this hotly debated issue.

Friday, June 3

12–1 p.m. | Showcase Stage, Bayside Level 1

Insider Trend Downloads: Design

Featuring head costume designer of ABC’s Scandal, along with a panelist Shannon Adducci, freelance journalist for Departures, Billboard, and the Hollywood Reporter, and moderated by president of the Accessories Council Karen Giberson, this event will showcase jewelry pulled straight from the floor of the Design Center with commentary from each participant.

Saurday, June 4

12–1 p.m. | Showcase Stage, Bayside Level 1

Insider Trend Downloads: Bridge

Featuring commentary on pieces pulled from the show floor of JCK’s Bridge neighborhood, this iteration of Insider Trend Downloads will feature head costume designer of Fox’s Scream Queens, Lauren Bott, along with an editors panel composed of The Zoe Report‘s Sari Tuschman and editorial director of OliviaPalermo.com, Jillian Magenheim, moderated by president of the Accessories Council, Karen Giberson.

Sunday, June 5

12–1 p.m. | Showcase Stage, Bayside Level 1

Insider Trend Downloads: Tech

The Accessories Council’s Karen Giberson returns a final time to moderate the discussion on tech, this time featuring pieces pulled from the Essentials and Clockwork neighborhoods of JCK. Head costume designer Ann Foley of ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be featured with founder and CEO of Hip Guide, Syl Tang, making up the editors panel.
