Heritage Auctions is combining jewelry and watches in a Hong Kong auction for the first time, as part of the house’s luxury push in Asian markets. Its Fine Jewelry & Timepieces Signature Auction takes place next Monday, June 15, with a public preview on Sunday.
Leading the jewelry lots, with a $90,000 reserve, is a Repossi platinum ring (pictured at top) centered on a 3.11 ct. untreated Colombian emerald, surrounded by 2.7 cts. full-cut and pear-shape diamonds. The octagonal emerald shows no clarity enhancement—its untreated status is a distinction worth emphasizing in a category where treatment is routine.

Heritage is offering an even larger untreated Colombian emerald—4.72 cts.—in a platinum ring with two baguette diamonds flanking the vivid green center stone. “It is extremely rare to encounter a Colombian emerald with no treatment,” said Jill Burgum, Heritage’s executive director of fine jewelry, in a statement. “This stone gets crazy rarity points, and one must appreciate that Mother Nature provided such spectacular color.”
Another jewelry standout is a necklace with 14.33 cts. padparadscha sapphires, each of the 10 stones framed by diamonds. With an orangey-pink color produced by a combination of chromium and iron that occurs in only a handful of deposits worldwide, padparadscha is among the rarest sapphire varieties.

Additional jewelry highlights include a 10.50 ct. Burma sapphire ring, haloed by approximately 1.45 cts. t.w. of diamonds; an unmounted 3.01 ct. fancy vivid yellow diamond ($70,000 reserve); and a diamond ring with a 4.05 ct. square-shape center stone plus nearly 3 cts. triangular and baguette-cut diamonds ($50,000).

On the watch side, Heritage’s top lot is a platinum Rolex Day-Date ref. 228396TBR with an ice blue dial and diamond bezel. Other timepieces on the block include a De Bethune Reserve de Marche ref. DB25 in 18k rose gold and a Harry Winston grand perpetual calendar in 18k yellow gold.
