The National Retail Federation published its annual Top 100 Retailers report last week, which ranks retailers based on sales for the most recently completed fiscal year.
The top five retailers are a familiar bunch: Walmart, Amazon, Kroger, Costco, and Walgreens. All five are omnichannel sellers, and with the exception of Amazon (which is growing its brick-and-mortar presence but is still primarily an online seller) they blanket their top geographical regions with store locations.
Only one pure-play jewelry retailer made the list—Signet Jewelry is number 98. But a handful of others, including Costco, Amazon, Macy’s, Kohl’s, and Nordstrom, also retail fine jewelry.
